Dan Ellmer was born in the late 1970s with the metabolic condition Phenylketonuria (PKU). His experience of growing up on the PKU diet as a child, and having been both on and off the PKU diet during his adult life, form the perfect backdrop for his honest approach to raising awareness of this complex metabolic disorder.

Dan is passionate about helping others with their PKU journey, and considers sharing his struggles to be an important aid in helping other PKU’ers, and their carers, to better manage and cope with their life.

Having a huge passion for writing, Dan has embarked on a new challenge to turn a lifelong hobby into something more fulfilling, whilst learning to perfect his craft.
